As the winter of 2004-2005 resulted in a record amount of snowfall at the higher elevations in Yosemite National Park, it's waterfalls have been spectacular this spring.  Therefore, we decided to visit the park for several days in mid-June, staying just outside the park itself at Tenaya Lodge, near the southern entrance.  These photos reveal what we found.

We hiked ~5 miles from our lodge to Tenaya Falls.  While it was quite a bit smaller than the falls we would see the next few days, we found it quite charming.

Passing through the Wawona Tunnel, Bridalveil Falls was running full.

Close-up of Bridalveil Falls.

El Capitan was glorious in this light and we observed several climbers attempting to scale its granite face.

We hiked to near the base of Yosemite Falls, also.

This is a view of Yosemite Falls over the Merced River.

A Gray Squirrel watched our progress.

We drove to Glacier Point for the view of Nevada and Vernal Falls in the distance, as well as Half Dome.

Looking down into the Valley, we had another view of Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls from Glacier Point.

Another view of Half Dome with a rock in the foreground which Rich had watched people hang-glide from when that had been allowed in the 1970's.

This fellow surprised us near Crane Flats as we were searching for a Great Gray Owl.  Though we didn't see one, we saw many other species and enjoyed our spring trip to Yosemite.
